
Mark Burnett
Burnett served as President of United Artists from 2014–2018 and as chairman of MGM Worldwide Television Group from 2018 to 2022.
He created and or produced the television shows The Apprentice, Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?, Shark Tank, Survivor, The Voice, Beat Shazam, The Martha Stewart Show and Generation Gap.
Burnett first joined MGM in 2013. After his promotion to chairman in 2018, the company expanded its cable television productions through the acquisitions of Evolution Media (Botched, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, The Real Housewives of Orange County) and of Big Fish Entertainment (Live PD and Black Ink Crew). Burnett has co-created the Christian media series The Bible and A.D. The Bible Continues, and produced the feature films Son of God, Little Boy, Woodlawn, and Ben-Hur.
He has maintained a strong presence in award show franchises, having produced the MTV Movie Awards (2007–2011), the annual People's Choice Awards (2010–2017), the Spike Video Game Awards (2011 & 2012) and the 2011 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards.
Burnett has produced more than 3,200 hours of television programming which regularly airs in more than 70 countries.
Variety recognized Burnett and his wife Roma Downey as "trailblazers". Both of them were also named among the "Most Influential People" by The Hollywood Reporter. In February 2016, Downey and Burnett gave the keynote address at President Obama's final National Prayer Breakfast, and Burnett returned the following year to introduce President Trump at his first National Prayer Breakfast.
