Season 4
Max and Caroline continue to work at a Brooklyn diner where they still dish up sarcasm and smarts — and sell Max's Homemade Cupcakes at the diner's pop-up window. New opportunities are on the horizon, as the girls continue looking for ways to increase their revenue and end up applying for a loan to produce more; eventually they get a second job as pastry chef and hostess to pay for it. In the meantime, Max and Caroline's neighbor Sophie continues her relationship with Oleg, and they finally decide to take the next step when they get engaged.

Season 5
As Max Black and Caroline Channing continue moving forward with Max's Homemade Cupcakes, their relationships become more complicated, and new opportunities are presented when a producer is interested on Caroline's rights to her life story to turn into a movie. Meanwhile, Sophie and Oleg start thinking about their future when Sophie realizes she might be pregnant.

Season 6
We last saw Max Black and Caroline Channing rallying together to help Hans, who was in deep debt after gambling on women's tennis. Though they still wait tables, they emerged from this debacle as part-time owners of the diner.
With business plans tucked snugly under their arms, they are now working on a newly converted Dessert Bar. Hans, for his part, promises to pay the girls the full $25,000 to regain full ownership of the bar. But will all this be enough to distract Max from the aftermath of her breakup with Randy?
