In series 2, we find Simon's body in a pool of blood on the street outside the building he works at every day.
We are then thrown back 35 days as Simon Jones, unknown to himself, is counting the days to his own death. You, the viewers, play the role of detective. Based in an insurance fraud enforcement office in a vibrant city centre, the characters' stories all intertwine with each other and sex, crime and deception are rife!
Nothing is as it seems in this office – is anyone truthful with each other? The lightness of long summer days hide a darker undercurrent.

Pennod 1
Tensions rise during a barbecue on a beautiful summer's day. One of the guests is having an affair with his best friend's wife, while elsewhere, the owner of a haulage company faces financial difficulties, as a number of enemies plot to ensure his business fails - and his wife would be happiest of all to bring about his downfall.

Pennod 2
The fire at Chris's warehouse is investigated, and his own family falls under suspicion - but the real culprit may harbour a darker motive.

Pennod 3
Why does Ruth ask Claire to make enquiries into Tim Gibson's background? When Jeff physically attacks Simon in the office, what are the consequences for them both? And why is Helen so intensely suspicious of Tim?

Pennod 4
Feeling the net closing in around him, how will Simon save himself? What secret has Helen been trying to hide but Ruth discovers? And who is the strange man Danny spots coming out of his sister Hazel's house?

Pennod 5
Jeff makes surprising discoveries as he investigates the arson attack at the warehouse for Chris, but is followed along the river path at night by a mysterious sinister figure. Helen argues with Geraint, and Fran considers whether to move in with Simon.

Pennod 6
The details of Jeff's mysterious death come to light, revealing whether he was murdered, died by accident or killed himself. Katie escapes from Charlie's clutches but is not sure where to run to - and her captor is not about to give up on finding her. Hazel thinks she might be pregnant, but the identity of the father is uncertain.

Pennod 7
Helen carries out her scam in the church, but is interrupted in the act. Fran goes in search of a safe place where she can hide from Michael, and Alun is concerned about leaving Katie alone with Simon at the flat.

Pennod 8
Martin has a dead body in his flat, and has to find a way to get rid of it. Chris asks Hazel to visit him in prison, but she does not know why. Someone makes a call to the insurance company, that leads to Ruth learning Simon and Danny's secret.
