Episode 1
Paramedics treat a man who has been stabbed in the leg and the head, only to discover he had already overdosed on heroin prior to receiving his injuries. Paramedics also treat a man struggling to breathe after a triple heart bypass operation, a woman whose rare genetic condition causes her to have seizures, and a man with severe chest pains who has recently had treatment for a heart complaint.

Episode 2
Paramedics are called to reports of a man collapsed in the street and in cardiac arrest. When they arrive, he's surrounded by police officers who've been carrying out CPR. In other cases, a woman in severe abdominal pain has a panic attack as the paramedics try to get her breathing under control, while a man with a fast heart rate is vomiting blood.

Episode 3
Paramedics treat a man who is high on drugs and has been found by police sitting in a doorway with a badly broken arm. A first day at work ends badly for a member of security staff at a nightclub, as he moves awkwardly and dislocates his knee. A man who's on blood thinners falls off his mobility scooter and hits his head. With the risk of a bleed on the brain, he needs to go to hospital.

Episode 4
Paramedics treat a woman who is in excruciating pain after giving birth by caesarean section just over a week ago. Even morphine is having little effect. A mother rings for help after her toddler has been ill for several days and proves difficult to wake, while a woman with a bad cough and a very high temperature is struggling to breathe.

Episode 5
A car swerves to avoid a cow in the middle of the road and ends up being hit from behind by another car. Paramedics are called to a man sitting on the pavement and refusing to move. He is being aggressive and the police are on scene. There are concerns that he may have had a stroke. A man who has been bed bound for many years has a high temperature and heart rate, and the paramedics are concerned he may have sepsis.

Episode 6
Paramedics treat a man who has injured himself while wheeling a push bike home and is in agony. The paramedics are concerned he has broken his hip. A daughter discovers her mum has died suddenly at home and calls for help. As the death is unexpected not only does the daughter have to confront her grief but she's also faced with a raft of necessary bureaucracy.

Episode 7
Paramedics are called to a man with chest pains, who is in so much discomfort that he can hardly speak, while a woman with liver disease has fallen over and ripped her ear. Just going to the toilet leaves another patient in agony, as he has only one kidney, and the paramedics are concerned he's got an infection, while a woman with a history of heart problems is struggling to breathe.

Episode 8
Paramedics on the night shift find a woman collapsed on the floor and on the verge of a diabetic coma. With no access to her veins and time running out, the team resort to drastic measures. A young woman is in agony with severe stomach cramps. Every time she gets up, her blood pressure drops and she passes out. It's a medical mystery that needs further investigation in hospital.

Paramedics treat a man who's been stabbed in the chest, a young man who may have life-threatening sepsis and a diabetic woman with high blood sugar readings.
