It is spring, the most unpredictable of all seasons in the Cairngorm mountains. Ospreys, red squirrels, dippers, capercaillies, roe deer and bottlenose dolphins struggle to find food and raise their young while coping with the extremes of wind and weather.

Of all seasons in the Highlands, summer is the most intense. But it's also the richest, with seas and mountains yielding their greatest bounty.

Episode 3
Seal pups fight for their lives against all odds as autumn storms hit, and then the winter freeze arrives, testing the animals of the Highlands.

Episode 4
Wild animals and people have always lived side by side in the highlands, experiencing the seasons together. However, humans have shaped this place and stamped their authority on the landscape.

The Ark
The Ark takes place 100 years in the future when planetary colonization missions have begun as a necessity to help secure the survival of the human race.
