1919, Lisbon. Sacadura Cabral, faced with the arrival of the Americans crossing the North Atlantic by air, is increasingly convinced of his plan: to cross the South Atlantic by air and be the first to achieve this feat in world aviation. A young journalist, Norberto Lopes, hears the commander's plan and begins his investigation. The race to the skies begins.

The competition is launched. The government will offer 20 contos to whoever completes the crossing, with the aim of celebrating the centenary of Brazil's independence. "Anyone can participate, anyone can win." But the dispute between officers becomes heated, and the government ends up deciding in favor of the Navy commander, Sacadura Cabral.

O Presídio
April 5, 1922, Atlantic Ocean. Despite having completed the second stage of the crossing, having reached Cape Verde, they are trapped on the island. With strong winds and problems with the floats, they only have enough gasoline for a 12-hour direct flight, and are unable to reach Fernando de Noronha.

Glória
South Atlantic, May 11, 1922. After taking off for Fernando de Noronha, Sacadura Cabral and Gago Coutinho face technical problems that leave the seaplane adrift in the South Atlantic. A search begins, while the world waits in suspense for news of the missing aviators.
