A series of bizarre deaths disguised as accidental incidents shocks the city, prompting the Public Security Bureau to establish a specialized Accident Investigation Unit. Led by veteran detective Zhuang Lan and joined by rising criminal investigator Cheng Mo, along with team members Bai Xiaolin, Fang Deyan, and Shao Hui, the unit is tasked with uncovering the truth behind these seemingly unrelated cases. Their first investigation centers on the mysterious sudden death of art studio creator Mu Weijie. By dismantling the carefully staged crime scene, the team identifies Xu Qiaoyue, a victim of prolonged abuse who was driven to seek extreme revenge. As the case unfolds, they expose a hidden network of silence and complicity among those who witnessed wrongdoing but chose to look away. More intriguingly, traces of a mysterious organization known as "Lighthouse" begin to emerge. Soon after, freelance writer Li Ting is found dead in what appears to be an accidental incident at Xinmai Hotel. Through relentless investigation, the team unravels an impossible-crime mystery and reveals the truth: Li had long subjected others to violence and unlawful imprisonment, ultimately provoking a desperate act of resistance. The investigators not only identify those who assisted in the crime but also uncover evidence that the shadowy organization Lighthouse has been manipulating events from behind the scenes. As the cases become increasingly interconnected, the Accident Investigation Unit finds itself drawn into a far-reaching conspiracy where every "accident" conceals a darker truth.
