On his day off, Kaverin saves the life of football player Kravets, who was vacationing with his wife at a SPA hotel, diagnosing him with a rare allergy to cold. The couple share their plans for a second child with Kaverin and Yelagina and agree to an offer to help pay for surrogate motherhood for another couple suffering from infertility due to genetic incompatibility. Zharova finally falls under the influence of Bragin. He suggests that she use her position to enrich herself illegally at the expense of wealthy patients, hinting at eliminating people who interfere with this, including Kaverin.
