He demands that Kaverin hospitalize a wealthy patient, Larisa Odintsovo, in order to gain access to her business. Kaverin's new patient is a pregnant actress who is faking childbirth to avoid a fine. The woman falls under the supervision of traffic police lieutenant Sidorov, who turned out to be her school sweetheart. On the highway, Ageev and Marina are stopped by the police on a tip from Sorokin. Elagina saves the situation.
