Alaska State Troopers - Season 1

Season 1
Episodes

Ice Patrol
Some call it Alaska's version of spring break -- the annual Arctic Man Ski and Sno-Go Classic. For four days, the remote Hoodoo Mountains are transformed into the state's fourth largest city. We'll join troopers patrolling this rowdy festival, where roughly 10,000 people convene for physically demanding winter sports. It's up to just 13 troopers to keep the peace, enforce the laws and perform dangerous search and rescue missions.

Crime on the Kenai
Unforgiving terrain mixed with big city crime makes challenging work for troopers in Soldotna, a city on the Kenai Peninsula. Trooper Brent Hatch responds to an ATV accident where an intoxicated youth lashes out. Then, several troopers spend hours searching pitch-black woods for a suspect who has previously assaulted an officer, and a wildlife trooper hits the waterways of the Kenai River.

The Wild West
Meet the brave men and women fighting crime in the Seward Peninsula, an unforgiving region in western Alaska. During the winter, daylight lasts less than four hours -- leaving a lot of time for trouble under the cover of darkness. We'll ride along with Trooper Anne Sears, one of the few female troopers on the force, to bring in a man with a $10,000 felony warrant. Then, we join her husband and colleague Trooper Jay Sears as he interrogates a person he suspects of smuggling alcohol.

Frontier Force
In this episode, recruits learn what it takes to become an Alaska State Trooper. They are tested mentally, physically, and emotionally -- culminating in a two-and-a-half-day survival exercise. With only the clothes on their backs and a small survival kit, they'll learn how to build a shelter and scavenge for food in the frigid and unforgiving Alaskan wilderness. Then, Wildlife Trooper Sgt. Scott Quist and his detachment patrol an area south of Fairbanks in search of big game hunters who break

Drug Bust
Despite its small-town feel and remote location, the western outpost of Bethel has its share of big-city problems. In a city plagued with alcohol and drug problems, a special drug unit prepares for an undercover mission to bust an OxyContin dealer. Then, in the dead of winter, wildlife troopers gear up and head out on ATVs to patrol 20 miles across frozen lakes and swamps. People are up and out at all hours of the night, and so are the troopers, keeping the towns and highways safe.

Alaskan Justice
Watch as the Troopers special drug unit goes undercover to set up an Oxycontin dealer in the western outpost of Bethel. Even with its remote location, Bethel has its share of big-city drug problems. The Western Alaska Alcohol and Narcotics Team (WAANT) is a task force that combats the illegal sale of drugs and alcohol in "Bush" Alaska. Follow from set up to exciting bust as an investigator goes undercover to make an Oxycontin buy from a known dealer. Then, troopers investigate domestic calls in Bethels neighborhoods and patrol the highway in the Mat-Su Valley. Later, another trooper takes to the waters of the Sitka Sound to assist in an ATV crash investigation, and wildlife troopers travel miles off the beaten path to patrol frozen lakes.
