As summer comes to an end, the heat dwindles; the Kilchers need to gather stockpiles of wood and use some frontier ingenuity to create a new stove.

Everyone scrambles to finish salvaging, salmon harvesting and construction on a new cabin for the coming winter.

The Kilchers are nearing the end of the summer harvest but receive no breaks from Mother Nature as a fishing trip runs foul and a crucial beehive colony is dying off for unknown reasons.

The Fall Hunt
The change of seasons has reached the frontier; the Kilchers will need to hunt and search for food in more dangerous and remote locations to sustain their winter stockpiles.

Cattle Drive Tribute
As winter approaches, the Kilchers lose a close friend and will have to drive his herd of cattle after his passing; the rugged trip turns out to be an emotional one.

The Rising Tide
A winter storm causes dangerous conditions for the Kilchers and their cattle herd, threatening to wash some of their livestock out to sea.

Winter's Delay
The Kilchers keep stockpiling as winter seems to be coming late this year; they use the time to continue stocking up their freezers for the inevitable deep freeze.
