A Whole New Frontier
As spring approaches, the Kilchers prepare for a potentially devastating wildfire season. But when Covid-19 threatens the homestead and crews are evacuated, the family must come together and adapt like never before.

Homestead Closed
An unprecedented new chapter kicks off on the homestead as the Kilchers film themselves coping with Alaska's stay-at-home order amid a growing pandemic. Resources must be stretched, homeschooling proves difficult and Atz Lee's PTSD resurfaces.

Emergency!
As supply chains in Alaska are disrupted, Jane and Eve focus on maximizing food supplies. The cattle drive is threatened by a runaway stallion, Eivin suffers a serious injury in his workshop and Atz Sr requires emergency surgery.

I Don't Want to Die Today
Kilcher road is threatened by a dangerous flood and Otto must repair the vital road before it's washed away. Eve struggles to homeschool her kids, Jane and August score big on a deep-sea fishing trip and Atz Sr. recovers from his surgery.

We're Marooned
While transporting calves to the Head of the Bay by boat, Otto, Charlotte and August are marooned. Still struggling with PTSD, Atz Lee works with his son Etienne to finish the insulation on his backcountry build and Jewel visits the homestead.

Land of the Midnight Sun
The Kilchers take advantage of the high summer's extra daylight to forge ahead. Atz Lee uses a helicopter to haul in vital equipment. Jane and Charlotte battle an angry nest of wasps, while Eivin fells trees and clears land for an upgraded chicken coop.

Tsunami Evacuation
An earthquake strikes Homer, triggering a tsunami warning and evacuation. Eivin and Eve traverse treacherous mountain terrain on their first-ever goat hunt and Charlotte creates a special memorial for victims of COVID-19.

Fighting Fire with Fire
To protect the homestead from wildfires, Otto dynamites a reservoir in case of an emergency. Charlotte goes fishing with Jane but finds it's not for her. After falling behind on the Fox Cabin, Atz Sr. enlists the help of his family to get back on track.

Backyard Prey
As fall approaches, the Kilchers kick into high gear. A large bull moose stalks the homestead and Eivin must keep his family safe. Atz Sr. hunts bear and nearly loses a horse. Otto begins the massive cleanup from an explosive wildfire prevention project.

Homestead Heartache
As the Fox Cabin nears completion, Atz Sr. unites seven Kilcher siblings to finish the interior of his legacy rebuild. Jane, August and Etienne embark on the final fishing trip of the year and Eivin suffers a devastating loss.

Breaking Point
The Kilchers rush to prepare for the arrival of winter. Otto saves a friend's home from sinking into the bay. The stress of parenting during the pandemic pushes Eve to her breaking point and Atz Sr. stalks a menacing bear on the homestead.

Fox Cabin Finale
Atz Sr. reveals his Fox Cabin legacy build after months of backbreaking effort. As winter begins, Eivin scrambles to complete a vital project he'd fallen behind on. Jane and Atz Lee attempt to airlift a piano to their remote cabin before snowfall.
