A patient covered in blood collapses in the waiting room and Dan is lead down a path of mystery and murder. A high speed police chase involving a stolen car leads to a horrific car accident. When Frank loses the battle to save one of the young men it brings him into conflict with the police. Cate struggles to deal with her own emotions as Mac reluctantly faces his first rehab session.
