A British performer breaks new ground on Soul Train while another guest's antics run amuck on the set. Tessa tries her hand at producing the show and Gerald's secrets are uncovered.

Don confronts Flo about moonlighting for his competition, while the Godfather of Soul puts Soul Train on pause to reclaim his poached musicians. JT and Simone finally reconnect.

Simone steps up as JT attempts to get custody of his sister, Ruby uses her connections to impress Don, and Gerald and Don's loyalty to each other is tested.

Don rushes back home to Chicago after his son, Raymond, alerts him to an altercation with the neighbor; Ruby looks to get revenge on Don and Gerald.

Soul Train guest host Richard Pryor pushes Tessa to the limit, George presents Don with a tough business decision, and Gerald puts everything on the line to track down Ruby.
