Den dræbte kvindes pårørende, især hendes far, Tom, og hans bror, Erik, er meget oprevne over, at politiet stadig ikke har fået fat i gerningsmanden, og da en af de mistænkte trækker sin tilståelse tilbage, tager de to brødre sagen i egen hånd, finder Hassan og tager ham og hans familie som gidsler med et gevær, indtil han tilstår. Det lykkedes dog Anna at forhandle familien ud, så der kun er Tom, Erik og Hassan tilbage. Ved et uheld skyder Tom sin bror, og efter at han er blev kørt på hospitalet, går Anna alene ind og får overtalt Tom til at opgive og komme ud. Samtidig ser Mads nye muligheder for at slippe lettere gennem sin fængselsophold. Han kan komme med i en forsøgsordning, hvor han udstyres med en fodlænke og afsone i hjemmet. Der er kun et problem - Han har intet hjem. Signe er ikke meget for, at Mads skal ned på gården igen. Jan giver dog, lidt modvilligt, lov til, at Mads flytter ind i lejligheden, da Martin går fra Anna.
