On a hot summer night in early August, two assailants attempt to rob a man's house, who is rumored to have a great deal of cash within his house. As events unfold, a simple robbery ends up leaving a young, engaged couple murdered. Quinn and Velazquez are assigned the case only to discover that time wasn't on the young couple's side.

Lady Killer
When elderly Edward, who always pays his rent on time, fails to do so, the apartment manager calls in a welfare check. As it turns out, Edward has been tortured and murdered in his apartment.
