Paradis perdu
Devastated by the death of a friend, Balthazar has left his job in Paris and spent the past six months sailing around the Atlantic, vowing never to touch a corpse again. His resolve is tested when he discovers a dead body near a remote island.

Bach investigates the death of a waiter who was impaled after a fall from his apartment. Balthazar is called to assist but is sidetracked by a woman claiming she was mugged outside of the Forensic Institute.

Dos au mur
After a high-speed chase in a restricted military zone results in their arrest, Balthazar and Bach are forced to recount to authorities the events that led them there. The day before, Balthazar and Bach had begun investigating a massacre at a bowling alley that left seven dead and one survivor.

Bach is sure they've finally caught Lise's killer, a man named Janvier, but Balthazar doesn't believe it. When a woman is found beaten to death in a church, Balthazar thinks her murder is linked to a secret martial-arts club.

Balthazar and Bach attend the scene of a bizarre double homicide, where the corpses were left in a ring of salt with coins over their eyes. As Balthazar delves into the life of one of the victims-a psychic-he imagines a parallel world where Lise never died.

Flying high after asking Maya to move in with him, Balthazar accompanies Bach on the search for a wounded boy. When they arrive at the child's home, they find the house empty and his mother dead.

When a man is found hit over the head and thrown into a balloon-filled pool, Balthazar determines he was killed by a clown. Meanwhile, Balthazar plans his upcoming wedding to Maya, but he worries how Bach will react to the news.

The day before Balthazar's wedding to Maya, Janvier breaks out of police custody. Balthazar is crushed, but Bach vows to bring Lise's killer to justice once and for all.
