Requiem for a Son
When his mistress Karen Armsby commits suicide during a party at the home of rising young político, Terry McCormack, he persuades private eye Hal Jones to help move her body to her own apartment so he won't be implicated.
When a blackmailer phones, McCormack assumes it's Jones. He gets Jones to agree to come to the drop, and then tails him. When he sees Jones in a phone booth, McCormack kills him.
Jones had been calling his friend, Frank Cannon, for advice on the messy affair. Cannon comes over the next morning to find Hal is dead, and his father, Barnaby Jones, who'd retired and given his son the business, at the house.
When another blackmailing call comes in, McCormack realizes he got the wrong man. Barnaby calls in the course of his investigation and McCormack hires him to find the blackmailer, who he claims is Hal's killer.
Karen's escort at the party, Reed Carpenter, turns out to be the blackmailer. Jones is concealed when McCormack delivers the money and accuses him of the murder. Carpenter denies it, Jones reveals himself, and the trapped McCormack tries to kill Jones but loses his nerve. Jones decides to come out of retirement and reestablish the business he'd left his son.

To Catch a Dead Man
Successful attorney Phil Carlyle, 42, plans to run out on his wife Dorsey, 47 and away with his mistress Diane Stewart, 28, and decides to stage his own "death" as a cover. He persuades friend Mike Hartney, 35, to sail his cabin cruiser which he has time-bombed and spread with his personal identification papers; after the explosion, it is assumed "Phil Carlyle" is dead.
Julie Barton, 25, hires Barnaby to find her missing lover, Mike, and Jones tracks down another of Mike's old girlfriends, Diane Stewart, who is living in isolation with "Fred Williams" (Phil Carlyle).
When Jones intrudes on their idyll and seems to guess their ruse, Diane panícs and Phil strangles her, Barnaby visits their cabin and accuses "Fred Williams" of being Phil Carlyle. Phil confesses and is about to kill Baraaby, who cleverly foils him and turns him in to the police.

Sunday: Doomsday
A black funeral wreath on Barnaby's door predicts his death. The detective sets out to find who has a vendetta against him.

The Murdering Class
Paul Thayer and Charles Lomax are prep school seniors who plot to change an accidental killing into a murder frame. Barnaby questions the headmistress of the school.

Perchance to Kill
Barnaby investigates the death of a husband. Two hippies are accused, but the detective doesn't believe a word of it.

The Loose Connection
A woman hires Barnaby to track down her missing father, but he gets involved with a Mexican drug-dealing plot.

Murder in the Doll's House
A best seller takes the lid off a California town and there's Murder in the doll's house when someone silences the author's typewriter and Barnaby steps in to find out who did it.

Sing a Song of Murder
Barnaby is hired to track down a kidnapped rock star, but he soon turns up dead. This puts Barnaby in a difficult position.

See Some Evil...Do Some Evil
Barnaby deals with a blind pianist who he suspects is behind a murder. Further more, he suspects the man can see, but he must prove it.

Murder-Go-Round
Barnaby investigates a suspicious hit-and-run. On behalf of the victim, he goes to the country town to recover the money carried by him.

To Denise, with Love and Murder
Barnaby investigates a case involving a murdered mistress and a missing wife. However, it's been two weeks and the killer has covered their tracks.

Barnaby investigates the death of a woman in a car accident. He suspects the case is linked to a fading film star.
