Episodes

Nando's vs KFC
Kate Quilton goes behind the counter to find out how American fried chicken colossus KFC and peri-peri powerhouse Nando's built billion-pound empires and continue to cash in on the UK's love of chicken.

Aldi vs M&S
Kate Quilton presents the story of the supermarket showdown between two of the biggest brands in the business, with insiders revealing how much the two retailers now overlap, despite starting out at opposite ends of the spending spectrum. It's a story of price wars over posh ready meals, wine, flowers and copycat cakes - and even courtroom battles over gin.

Primark vs John Lewis
Kate Quilton explores how department store John Lewis, long-time pillar of middle-class UK, famed for wedding lists and its much talked-about Christmas adverts, has found itself battling against cut-price upstart Primark, with its hit homeware ranges and viral beauty dupes. As wallets tighten, people want a cheap pick-me-up - a lipstick, a quirky mug, a cosy blanket - and these two giants of the high street are going all out to deliver.

Cadbury vs McVitie's
Kate Quilton peers into the cookie jar to look at the rivalry between the confectioners. She takes in the development of new products, the shrinking of existing ones, and how the contest for publicity takes in everything from the cake-v-biscuit debate and drumming gorillas. Kate also looks at how McVitie's are reinventing the Jaffa Cake, while Cadbury are leaning into collaborations with Biscoff, Oreo and Daim to extend their Dairy Milk empire.
