Episode 1 was the first of fifteen episodes which covered Season 1.0 of Comedy Central BattleBots. It was the also the first fully-produced BattleBots episode for free-to-air television, with both previous 1999 events in Long Beach and Las Vegas being pay-per-view. This episode contained just two fights - both in the lightweight division. Brand new builds Backlash and Disposable Hero took to the BattleBox before the ladybug-themed Tentoumushi led by Lisa Winter faced off against Dallas Goecker's Sallad. The episode premiered on August 23, 2000 and served as the show's pilot to Comedy Central.
