A star-studded line-up of famous faces take part in this year's marathon fundraising effort. Sir Terry Wogan is joined by Tess Daly to kick off the evening's extravaganza in aid of disadvantaged children in the UK. The cast of West End musical Matilda perform an exclusive medley of songs from the multi award winning show. Boyband JLS perform some of their greatest hits in Albert Square, the home of EastEnders, and there is a world exclusive preview clip from the 50th anniversary episode of Doctor Who.

Olympic ice dance legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean ditch their skates and take to the ballroom as they go head-to-head in a very special Strictly Come Dancing.
8.30-9.00
Gary Barlow introduces a nationwide choir of 1,500 schoolchildren united in song, whilst Frank Skinner hosts a special children's version of Room 101. The world's biggest boy band, One Direction, make a rare UK appearance especially for Children in Need.
9.00-10.00
Sir Terry is joined by co-host Fearne Cotton for a fun-filled hour of entertainment. Comedian Harry Hill and a cast of celebrity cameos offer up a hilarious remake of a classic 1980s music video. The cast of EastEnders take part in a live dance in Albert Square, taking in styles including Charleston, Bollywood, street dance, Tango, and Broadway. The One Show's Alex Jones and Team Rickshaw complete their week long nationwide challenge. Cast members from Call the Midwife perform a 1950s-inspired song and dance medley, and Ellie Goulding performs the official Children in Need single How Long Will I Love You, live on stage.

Appeal Night: Part 2
The fun continues as Fearne Cotton and boyband One Direction host a music-packed show. Tinie Tempah performs his latest track and there are exclusive performances from some of the biggest names who took part in the Children in Need Rocks concert, masterminded by Gary Barlow.

Appeal Night: Part 3

Zoe Ball joins Sir Terry Wogan for hosting duties, as last year's X Factor winner James Arthur reopens the party. Catherine Tate revives her Nan character in a one-off special which sees the feisty pensioner become the worst patient in the world to ever grace the wards of Holby City.

Boyband McFly give us a real treat as they're joined on stage by former boyband pals Busted. Global internet sensation Ylvis make their first British TV performance of viral sensation The Fox (What Does the Fox Say)?
11.30-12.00
Monty Python legend Eric Idle introduces a very special performance from the cast of the West End musical Spamalot. Then pop heart throbs JLS and Mcfly take part in a Battle of the Boybands competition, with games and challenges. Songstress Dido performs one of her biggest hit singles.
12.00-2.00
Radio 1's Nick Grimshaw joins Sir Terry Wogan for the final lap of the night. Greg James and Russell Kane compete in a comedy lip sync duel. Wet Wet Wet perform one of the biggest ever selling singles, Love Is All Around, and the cast of the latest West End hit musical The Commitments perform a medley of rip-roaring songs. And to finish, a look back at the evening's highlights, and the grand total of the night's charity donations is revealed.

Emily Lane is a good-natured Christmas shop owner with a secret past.
