Belfer - Season 1

Just before the start of a new school year Jakob, an autistic teenager, leads his brother Kyrstian and their friend Maciek to discover the dead body of their classmate, Joanna Walewska. Joanna was Maciek's girlfriend, and he goes into shock. When police examine the crime scene they find Joanna's handbag filled with drugs and large amounts of money. The Police Chief Slawomir Slota believes it to be suicide but the young inspector Rafal Papiński suspects she may have been murdered. The next day a newcomer, Pawel Zawadzki, arrives in Dobrowice. Pawel is the new teacher at the local high school that Joanna attended. He keeps his reasons for moving to the small town vague and is reluctant to tell the Principal why he left his job at a prestigious school in Warsaw. He makes friends with the PE coach, Daniel. While hanging out in a bar, he asks Daniel about the town and the dead student.

The students are questioned by the police at school. It becomes clear that Joanna was not popular and took psychotropic drugs. The students reveal that Maciek was aggressive and very jealous. Maciek is brought into the police station where the local Police Chief reveals to him that Joanna was pregnant when she died. Maciek is accused of giving Joanna the money found in her bag to pay for an abortion.

Daniel, the PE coach, is shocked to find the police are waiting for him at his school office. Owing to a female student's testimony, he's cuffed and taken to the police station. He is charged with sexual harassment of students, having an affair with Joanna, and of her murder. He doesn't recognise the bracelet, an alleged gift from her.

The video recording found on Joanna's phone shows Joanna flirting with Sebastian. The two are surrounded by his beloved flowers. Devastated and angry, Maciek steals his father's gun. Ewelina and Krystian find a heap of rotting animal waste in the forest. The practice of dumping waste by the Kumityl plant is commonplace in Dobrowice. But the owner of the Kumityl plant, Ryszard Kumiński, and other town big shots are up to more than just dumping waste.

Maciek seeks to avenge Joanna's death by shooting Sebastian at the site of her murder. His father, Jacek, rushes to intervene. In the struggle that ensues, a shot is fired and Maciek collapses to the ground. He is rushed to hospital in a critical condition.

Pawel returns home and is greeted by a commotion of police officers, firefighters and a crowd of onlookers. His aunt's house, where he is currently living, is on fire. Grzegorz Molenda drives Jasiek to school and the teenager discovers a gun hidden in the car's trunk.

After staging the fake armed robbery of the truck with the smuggled alcohol, Adrian calls Grzegorz Molenda's house, pretending to be oblivious to his recent arrest. Jasiek seeks to get his revenge for his humiliation in the forest and drives Lukasz Tarczyński's father, a doctor, to the place of the incident. Whilst the doctor treats Kijana's gunshot wound, Jasiek spots a shell casing - its location falsifies Adrian's report of the incident.

Yuri's phone rings just in time. It's Adrian calling, and he confirms that Pawel is a friend. Yuri sets Pawel free. Adrian secretly arrives back in Dobrowice and meets up with Pawel. They agree to work as a team, along with Leslaw, to clear Adrian's name and get information from Adrian's friends Kijana and Shrek in order to find the true killer.

The police search the scene of the shoot-out with Adrian. Inspector Radoslaw Kędzierski is annoyed that he wasn't informed Adrian had returned to town. He doesn't believe the Police Chief's claims that he shot Adrian. Despite fearing for his safety, Leslaw still helps Pawel find the location of Joanna's murder - a popular bonfire spot where teenagers hang out.

In the final episode of the season, Pawel and Marta show the recording from the dictation test to Inspector Radoslaw Kędzierski. After seeing Julka Molenda's reaction, the Inspector decides to search the Molenda house again. Jasiek is enjoying his new life as a gangster coordinating drug deals. He instructs Lukasz Tarczyński to give Ola mysterious drugs to help her study in order to sabotage Pawel. He believes the teacher is acting against his family and wants revenge.
