All evidence points towards the death being a gangland dispute, but when John secretly meets with a source, the investigation brings him into dangerously close contact with a formidable Stockport gang.

John is still reeling after his discovery that a proxy attack is possibly being planned on UK soil to target a prominent Iranian dissident, but a visit to an informant's widow throws up contradictory evidence. John becomes convinced that there is a cover-up that permeates to the highest level. An unexpected lead from his informant Jordan gives the breakthrough he's been looking for, but he is stunned by a shocking revelation from Mehreen before he can alert his colleagues.
