Marko and Bisera discover the unusual life of the murdered Šibenik police chief Mikulandra in Šibenik. They work with the new chief Ivor, whose best friend is the shady restaurateur Dugi, who was involved in the arrival and accommodation of the murdered Mexican woman Gabriela. Luca searches for the pathologist who performed the autopsy in Split, but also tries to solve his sister Tanja's problem with her abusive husband.

Marko is in Šibenik with the daughter of the murdered mayor, and Bisera tries to find out from her mother about the origin of the family fortune. In Split, Luca discovers that the route of Cvele and his alleged victim, a murdered Mexican woman, was made up, but also that in Split, Cvele mostly hung out with his sister's husband, the violent Marijo.

The political opponents of the Minister of the Interior use Roki's murder and Cvelet's kidnapping to attack Marko and his department. The new chief, Ivor, is aware that his professional involvement will endanger his friend Dugi. At Roki's funeral, Luca's sister's husband, Mario, also appears, who fits the profile of the perpetrator.

Marko visits Željac in prison. They make a deal: if he helps him find out who killed the Mexican woman, Željac will help him cut off the drug trade, but the only way is to secretly get him out of prison. The minister agrees to the detainee's release after a TV report in which the lawyer of Marijo, Luca's sister's husband, claims that his arrest is motivated by personal revenge.

Marko and Željac plan an operation to track drugs arriving at the port of Ploče in a container with fruit. Dugi asks Ivor to get him a forged passport. Viktor and the young criminal Hot guard Cvelet, but Hot kills them both.
