Billionaire Holiday Resort - Season 1

Season 1

Episodes

Maldives
The first edition focuses on the Robinson Crusoe-themed Gili Lankanfushi in the Maldives, the ultimate romantic getaway and one of the most exclusive hotels in the world, where stays cost as much as £25,000 a night.

Langkawi
This time, we're in the jungle on the tropical Malaysian island of Langkawi. At the Datai resort, mega wealthy guests enjoy the height of luxury in the middle of a remote 10-millionyear-old rainforest as well as special access to one of the top 10 beaches on the planet. For well-travelled guests who've already seen the best the world has to offer, it's this hotel's unique location that gives it an edge. We follow holidaymakers enjoying some of the exclusive experiences the resort can provide in an ancient rainforest. There are no coach tours to crowded tourist hot spots here. Instead, renowned naturalists accompany guests for the world's most natural spa treatment on a sunrise walk through the forest or take them on a private boat tour to one of the island's deserted beaches. But running a top luxury hotel in the middle of the jungle has its challenges. Guests are warned not to leave their minibars open because the island's monkeys are known to help themselves to a snack. And at the 18-hole golf course, staff struggle to maintain pictureperfect greens with the rainforest on their doorstep. We join staff who go the extra mile to make sure there's six-star luxury available at all times, even on this far-flung island. Like the head chef who flies in Wagyu beef and Iranian caviar to keep his diners happy, and the bar staff who serve £20,000 vintage wine from California. The staff are hard at work behind the scenes before guests even check in. An employee contacts holidaymakers (or their PAs) once they've booked, so everything from their favourite brand of toothpaste to the number of pillows they like on their bed is arranged for their arrival. At the hotel's top property, the Datai Estate Villa, this exclusive treatment is taken to another level. This vast private residence comes with five bedrooms and two pools — all hidden in the jungle to ensure complete privacy — and two private butlers who never say no. We meet one as he sets up a bespoke spa for super rich travellers who expect everything to come to them. But with stays here costing as much as £18,000 a night, silver service like this comes as standard!

Cannes
Exploring the French Riviera, starting at the Hotel Martinez in Cannes, where guests arrive by helicopter and speedboat and staff work relentlessly to maintain the glossy veneer. Daily tasks include preparing Michelin-starred picnics to be enjoyed on boats out on the Mediterranean Sea, serving sunset drinks on cliff tops only accessible by helicopter, and organising specialist items to be delivered from around the country in time for film premieres.

Morocco
A look behind the scenes at La Mamounia on the edge of the city of Marrakesh in Morocco, where A-listers come for a luxurious taste of North Africa. The hotel has been welcoming the rich and powerful since 1923, and has also found fame with the newest generation of the super-rich and beyond after it featured in hit Netflix series Inventing Anna. In the hotel's top rooms - the riad courtyard suites popular with celebrities such as Khloe Kardashian, who want their privacy - a live-in personal butler attends to guests' every need, and is all part of the package when just one night here costs as much as £8,000.

Paris
Life at the Peninsula Paris hotel in the French capital, where its wealthy guests get to live out their wildest romantic fantasies with Michelin-starred food, private views of the Eiffel Tower and 550 staff to cater to their every need.
