Love, Dreams and Appearance Are Everything
As a little girl, Manaha got separated from her parents in the crowd while attending high school beauty pageant, and one of the contestants came from the stage and helped her. She felt like looking at an angel, and ever since her dream was to become like her. Now, in present, she is not that good looking and doesn't even consider becoming a contestant, but due to circumstances, she gets nominated to replace one of the girls by the pageant queen, Yuri... though with ulterior motives. Hiding from her parents, she accepts it, and also gets closer to Keigo, who was top male contestant. During the pageant day, just as Yuri and Manaha were to enter the stage, the light falls and Manaha pushes Yuri out of the danger, but gets seriously hurt. She has hard time getting motivation to even go to school, and when she does, she founds out it was all a farce. In spur of a moment, she tries to take her own life, but Sora, who she had a run in with earlier, intervenes and convinces her think of be who she wants to be and not go back to who she was.
