Bloods - Season 1

South London paramedic Maleek is not impressed by new partner Wendy, a middle-aged divorcee who has just moved to the capital. Meanwhile, team leader Jo tries to flirt with grieving widower Lawrence, but is caught out by a major pile-up.

Maleek reveals his dream of a job in the helicopter service after meeting arrogant air ambulance paramedic Phil. Wendy pushes him to use this new connection, but ends up making an unwanted one of her own. Hot-headed newcomer Kareshma is paired with cautious veteran Gary for her first shift, while Jo uses self-defence training to get Lawrence's attention.

When Maleek bumps into old flame Nicole, a single mum, Wendy sees the chance to get them together - by looking after her son. In an effort to impress the kid, Maleek takes him on a ride-a-long that spirals out of control. Jo and Lawrence enjoy quality time with a dead body. Kareshma tries to break up Darrell and Darryl to get a new partner.

After their screw-up with the kid, Maleek is punished with pushbike duty, while Wendy has to work under Jo's observation. As Wendy experiences a new partner and Maleek finally gets to work alone, they both start to appreciate what they had together. Gary discovers Kareshma has a twin sister working in A&E who's even more ruthless than her.

Wendy discovers Maleek is a talented singer, but refuses to sing after a traumatic teenage experience, so tries everything she can to hear his voice. Jo gets lucky with a male nurse and tries to use it to make Lawrence jealous. Kareshma resorts to desperate measures to get rid of Gary.

With the partnership in tatters, Maleek and Wendy are forced to deliver a baby together on the underground. Lawrence sees Jo in a new light when they work a shift together. Gary has to save Kareshma's life, much to her annoyance.
