Joyce is retiring. Although she was hoping for a big party at a country hotel, Alan has just invited their friends round to their house - but at least he has blown up some balloons.
Maureen is feeling trapped 'out in the sticks' and latches on to Joyce's hip new neighbours - a young couple and their two kids - who have just moved from London. John's made a 'tribute video' for Joyce's party, but has forgotten to ask Trevor for his tribute. Alan has some bad news for Joyce that might spoil her party.
