Some are good and honest, while others are very malicious. The most dangerous of the settlers is Tex Hex, a vicious outlaw who uses dark magic and leads a criminal gang called the Carrion Bunch. Tex himself works for Stampede, a demonic broncosaurus with terrifying supernatural powers. These viliains seek to control the Kerium supply, which will allow them to conquer New Texas. The Galactic Council sends a lawman to protect the planet: Marshall BraveStarr, a heroic Native American who uses his animal-based super powers (Eyes of the Hawk, Ears of the Wolf, Strength of the Bear, Speed of the Puma) to help him fight for justice. BraveStarr's allies include Thirty-Thirty, a talking mechanical horse who can transform into a humanoid form; the loyal Deputy Fuzz, a member of New Texas' native species, the Prairie People; Judge J.B. McBride, the woman who runs the local justice system (and is also BraveStarr's love interest); and the Shaman, BraveStarr's wise mentor and father figure.
