The first of two parts looks at the whiteout chaos of 2018's Beast from the East, the storm surge of 2013 that battered the east coast, and the terrifying flash floods that overwhelmed the Cornish village of Boscastle in 2004. There is also the storm of 1987 that left a trail of destruction in its wake, the lethal smog that choked London in 1952 and the rare but violent tornadoes that struck Birmingham in 2005.

Episode 2
The concluding part looks at the catastrophic floods of 1953 that claimed hundreds of lives and reshaped Britain's coastline, and the devastating West Country floods of 2007 that submerged homes and triggered one of the largest emergency responses in modern British history. Also discussed are the relentless blizzards of 1982 that cut off entire communities and the unprecedented heatwaves of 2022, when soaring temperatures pushed emergency services, and the public, to breaking point.

This popular news magazine provides both hard hitting investigations, interviews and features, along with people in the news and current events. 60 Minutes has set unprecedented records in the Nielsen's ratings with a number 1 rating, five times, making it among the most successful TV programs in all of television history. This series has won more Emmy awards than any other news program and in 2003, Don Hewitt, the creator (back in 1968), was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Emmy, along with the 60 Minute correspondents.
