Home Front
By the end of summer, Nora has not heard from Justin in three weeks and struggles to cope in spite of her efforts to be brave. Kitty takes a break from the presidential campaign to be with her family, and they insist on taking her out on her birthday. Julia hasn't left the house since the death of her newborn, and Tommy isn't sure how to help her. Kevin has spent the summer happy with Jason, but then Jason gets a mission from his bishop - in Malaysia. Sarah has sex with Joe, but what does it mean to each of them?

An American Family
Justin returns from Iraq after an attack on his unit, but with severe injuries in his leg. Nora wants to help him as much as she can, but that may be too much. Sarah asks Joe to move back home, but he is ready for a divorce. Kitty calls in to a conservative radio talk show and causes Robert all kinds of trouble. An old friend of Rebecca's gets a job at Tommy's winery.

History Repeating
Nora and Rebecca devise a plan to help Justin cope with pain; Julia tells Tommy she needs time away with their baby; Kevin and Scotty share an impromptu dinner; Kitty confronts Robert's ex-wife.

States of the Union
Rebecca's suspicions arise after Justin makes an almost miraculous recovery. Kevin pushes Saul to the edge to get some answers. Nora, Sarah and Kitty decide to go to a spa. Tommy tries to make friends but ends up in an embarrassing situation.

Domestic Issues
Sarah becomes embroiled in a difficult battle with Joe for custody of their children. Kitty's Halloween announcement has consequences for the entire Walker family.

Two Places
Kitty brings in an old acquaintance to help handle her pregnancy's impact on Robert's campaign. Justin goes to a bar with Rebecca and Lena, and Rebecca calls Justin out on his new drug habit. Kevin finds out Scotty is having money troubles and asks him to stay with him for a while. Paige doesn't respond well to her parents' new custody arrangement and ends up running away from home.

36 Hours
Rebecca reveals Justin's painkiller addiction to the family, and they stage an intervention. Robert is on the campaign trail, but is under pressure privately and professionally. Saul reveals a secret that astonishes his sister.

Something New
Kitty plans her wedding, but can't seem to make it feel like her own. Nora rediscovers her boyfriend from forty years ago, A business consultant uses his charm on Sarah, Julia returns to Tommy, and things happen between Kevin and Scotty.

Holy Matrimony!
Robert and Kitty get married, but not before a political scandal and a severe case of cold feet threatens the wedding. Meanwhile Isaac distracts Nora from her romance with Stan. Holly gets a surprise visit from an old friend and some secrets are revealed.

The Feast of Epiphany
Secrets are the order of the day when the Walkers gather for a family dinner because Nora is too shy to ask Isaac out on her own. Meanwhile, Becca is trying to play matchmaker for her mother.

The Missionary Imposition
Sarah goes to San Francisco with Graham Finch to secure a deal with a Chinese businessman. Tommy and Julia have trouble forgiving each other's missteps, and Lena comes to a crossroads in her relationship with Justin. Nora goes on a date with Isaac. Jason returns from Malaysia and comes to see Kevin, and Scotty shows up with dinner.

Compromises
Robert McCallister is competing in the primaries for the Republican presidential nomination, and the pressure is getting to him. Kitty brings in his brother and children to give him a break from campaign rallies. Sarah gets her divorce papers. Kevin takes her out to a gay bar where he hopes to convince Scotty's bohemian friends he isn't uptight. Rebecca learns about photography from David, eager to spend more time with him.

Separation Anxiety
Robert loses the final round of primaries and the chance to be president. Three months later, he and Kitty are getting help to try and have a baby, Isaac asks Nora to move to Washington with him, and Rebecca and Justin decide to have DNA tests to see if they really are related.

Double Negative
The results of Rebecca's paternity test turn her world upside down. Presidential nominee Taylor, who Robert lost to in the primaries, offers Robert his vice-presidential spot. Kitty, awaiting the results of her fertility treatments, is reluctant to go back on the campaign trail. When Scotty hurts his hand and gets a medical bill he can't pay, Kevin thinks of an easy way to get Scotty health insurance. Faced with Saul's deception at work, Sarah must decide how much she really trusts him.

Moral Hazard
After an international business deal goes bad, Holly becomes the saving grace for Ojai Foods; Justin delivers heartbreaking news about a family member; Saul makes a confession; Scotty and Kevin share a life changing moment.

Prior Commitments
Kevin and Scotty make a commitment to be life partners; Saul finally comes to grips with his identity in a public way; the family discovers that William kept yet another painful secret from them.
