As a forensic examiner, Gao Feng's grandfather Gao Si Hai stuck to his guns and did his best to find clues that will lead him to the truth. However, he gets framed, loses his job and gains infamy for his alleged wrongdoings for over 30 years until he eventually succumbed to Alzheimer's disease. As a police deputy chief, Gao Feng's father Gao Jian She died a hero while investigating a case from 20 years ago. The case never reached a verdict but recent findings point to inconsistencies that leaves Gao Jian She's image as a martyr in tatters. As he was preparing to leave the police force, Gao Feng discovers a case that was connected to him. He is forced to give up everything in his desperate search for the truth that can clear his family's name
