The break-in trial of when the Denwell Burn, a rival youth club, broke in is taking its toll as the future of Byker Grove is unsteady. Grove Youth Leader Paul is set up along with Matt to take the fall for the break in and although Matt can clear their name he is too frightened to speak up. Paul's father is afraid that if the truth doesn't come out that he will get a criminal record. In order to have some cash Regina decides to earn money by delivering papers. Ben's 18th birthday is fast approaching and there are mixed feeling to go with it as he is now an adult and must leave his home with Lou as a foster child. Trying to cheer Ben up Adam and Luke plan a party for him but Claire is planning to move back with her parents in Tenerife and still hasn't told Ben.
