A day after Ángel was trapped, the army blocks access to the disaster zone. At the collapsed CONALEP, Pepín and the students help Alicia, a deaf woman searching for her nephew. Meanwhile, with the following year's World Cup at risk, Ignacio and Guillermo must decide whether to reveal the imminent aftershock.

Victoria, a young rebel, defies her grandfather by taking the family taxi out to the streets to help. At the hospital, Dr. Carlos and the nurses work to maintain order. Among the rubble, Dr. Ángel recalls the nightmares he had while unconscious, wondering if he was actually not dreaming. Camila knows it's time to make the call she has been avoiding for so long.

Ángel is rescued but traumatized after being buried for so long. At CONALEP, Pepín and the volunteers finally get help. Victoria brings Jack, a foreign journalist, to the hospital, someone Camila recognizes and who might be helpful. As night falls, the aftershock looms, threatening to catch the unsuspecting population by surprise.

The aftershock has caused several buildings to collapse, complicating the rescue efforts. Ignacio loses track of Ángel in the chaos and must find him. Camila follows a lead, trying to uncover what Colonel Hernández and his subordinates are hiding. At CONALEP, all hope seems lost, but Alicia will have to convince the others that there are still people alive beneath the rubble.

Alicia guides Pepín and the miners to the spot where she believes there are still survivors, getting closer to finding her nephew, Ezequiel. The doctors are nearing Rosario but face a difficult obstacle-they need tools. Meanwhile, Camila, with the help of Comosama and Dober, comes up with a plan to return the medicines stolen by the army to the hospital.

Colonel Hernández tortures Camila to extract the truth, but the journalist resists. Ignacio begins to act strangely, embarking on a mysterious journey where he finally encounters Ángel. The nurses bid farewell to their last fallen companion under the rubble, and Victoria becomes a messenger between Pepín and Chave after successfully bringing Alicia and her nephew to the hospital.

As Ángel crosses the city with Camila to recover the videotapes, Ignacio threatens Guillermo to get a meeting with the president. At the General Hospital, a greater disaster could strike at any moment due to a lapse in attention. Meanwhile, Hilda leads the resistance of the displaced victims who refuse to be moved by the army.

Ángel learns about the events at the hospital and desperately searches for Dr. Carlos amid the chaos of the evacuation. Camila leads Jack and Victoria with the videotapes toward the U.S. embassy. No one knows anything about Ignacio, least of all his wife, Irene, who senses that something terrible has happened to him. News of the fire at the General Hospital reaches CONALEP.

Camila is in critical condition, and Ángel must perform emergency surgery, unsure if he can save her. Colonel Hernández pushes soldiers to speed up the hospital evacuation, while refugees led by Hilda grow more resistant. Pepín reunites with Chave, and together with the miners, they join the rescue efforts-there's still life under the rubble of the General Hospital.

Everything culminates at the General Hospital, where the exhausting rescue efforts are in jeopardy when the government decides to send bulldozers to clear the most affected areas. Colonel Hernández loses his composure and resorts to violence in response to his soldiers' insubordination. Ángel confronts him.
