The first episode covers the Easter bank holidays, and incident manager Adele must decide which jobs to prioritise, with only limited resources at her disposal. The weekend begins with a violent arrest, which uses up all of Paignton's available response officers, while the only dedicated traffic officer is called to an accident in Exmouth.

Dark Times
Devon and Cornwall Police resource deployment officer JJ must prioritise resources for the most dangerous domestic calls, complex and serious crimes and mental health incidents on the basis of threat, risk and potential harm. Response officer Amie and her partner search the cliffs of Devon for a missing person, while force Incident manager Martin dispatches specialist teams to Cornwall to deal with a potential armed siege.

Breaking Point
A look at Devon and Cornwall Police's struggle to meet the needs of the communities they serve when reoffending is high, and there are cuts to social and mental health services. Force incident manager Adele faces difficult decisions in protecting the lives of the public as she deals with the most serious and life-threatening cases that come into the Devon and Cornwall police control room. She has to determine whether the use of firearms should be authorised to tackle a 15-year-old in possession of a sword, and if there is time to wait 30 minutes for a negotiator to talk a woman away from the edge of a cliff.

No Going Back
A look at the impact of the rise in mental health-related incidents, with such cases now accounting for 40 per cent of the Devon and Cornwall forces 999 calls. Enhanced crisis communicator Rachel deals with a young person who has gone missing and is threatening to harm themselves, with half of Plymouth's officers involved in the search.
