Both men had been partners in creating a special scanner that made both rich. But then Whitehead began to live it up and lose money and Ross broke the partnership. However, Cannon discovers that Whitehead is serving time in prison and was there when the burglary was committed.

After a man apparently kills his girlfriend who was leaving him, he hires Cannon to clear his name.
