Welcome to Carmen

Hvor der handles…
The Americans are visiting Carmen when Else, one of Carmen's younger women, has a serious accident in the factory hall. Birthe and Axel must now do everything they can to ensure that no one discovers the lack of safety for Carmen's employees before the Americans have signed the big contract. It's not easy, however, as Else's mother, neighbor Vita and the press are more than ready to confront Axel and ruin the big business adventure.

Verdens bedste arbejdsplads
50,000 sets of curlers are on their way to the USA, and now the rest of Europe must have their deliveries, so Axel expands the factory and hires people for night work.
Birthe is ordered to get 70 ladies for the factory, but how do you do that when the whole of Denmark is in massive labor shortage? Birthe must admit that new alternative methods must be used. Axel tries to enjoy his success but notices the loneliness creeping in. Because who does he really have in his life when the going gets tough?

Direktøren for det hele
A construction fault means that Carmen Curlers must withdraw all orders from around the world. The production stoppage forces Birthe to send all of Carmen's ladies home without pay, while Axel and Frans travel to Switzerland to collect a spare part. Birthe is temporarily appointed as director, much to the frustration of Jørgen, who is tired of being alone on the farm so much. The daughter Kathrine falls in love, and at the mental sanatorium Poul is introduced to the new wonder drug LSD.

We shall overcome
Carmen Curlers is preparing for a nice visit from the American ambassador. Kathrine's new friend, the folk singer Annie, invites Kathrine and her boyfriend Gustav on a weekend trip together with a political group whose creativity and political awareness fascinates her. What Kathrine doesn't know is that the group has big plans for her.

Unique selling point

Buongiorno
Carmen Curlers have been copied and everyone in the factory is under suspicion. The secretary Lis tries to get hold of the director of Carla Curlers by phone, but the factory in Italy refuses to put her through, so Axel, Frans and Marc head for Italy to find out who the accomplice is. Birthe makes a revealing discovery and must act quickly.
