At 48, Tom Villeneuve is finally free. Wrongly accused of murdering his wife, Tom has just spent 17 years in prison. Combative, he studies law in prison and when he is released, he becomes a lawyer. Back in his hometown, Nice, he is determined to find out who the real murderer is. He opens his own practice as a "young" lawyer and defends those he believes to be unjustly accused of crime, like him.

Tom, Sigourney and Simon investigate but they have other worries. A hitman is chasing Tom. Time is running out, he must prove his innocence in the Peter Marks case, before he gets murdered! Zoé comes to his aid by diving back into her mother's files...
