Tatyana Volkova is a private detective in the provincial town of Tarasov. She has a mother, friends, an ex-husband and, of course, a job that she manages with her inherent skill, intuition and humor. The wife of the former accountant of Soyuzintorg, Chilikov, was killed, who was carrying some important documents relating to the activities of the former boss of her husband, Mironov. Chilikov is sure that it was because of them that his wife died. Volkova begins an investigation, during which she realizes that Chilikov is right, but only partially.
