Episode 1
Life in the A&E department of Barnsley Hospital. In reception, a 64-year-old man has collapsed and lost consciousness. The casualty team believe he has had a heart attack and they need to get him to resus immediately. While they battle to save his life, another emergency is on the way - a 21-year-old who is struggling to breathe and needs urgent medical attention.

Episode 2
Ninety-three-year-old Eileen has had a bad fall, leaving her bleeding from a wound on her head. She's taken through to an available space in resus where paramedics handover to Dr Joshua Wren. In paediatrics, Andy brings in 11-year-old daughter Jessica who has broken her arm. She is administered pain relief while emergency nurse practitioner Tony prepares a cast for her arm.

Episode 3
A seizure in the waiting room sends 34-year-old Lisa to resus, while Michael, a former stone mason, battles a life-threatening lung infection. Deborah arrives with a head wound after being trampled by a horse, needing urgent scans, and Doreen, confused and battling bladder cancer, shows signs of infection.

Episode 4
Dr John Shepherd treats a 70-year-old patient who is struggling to breathe, he's had pains in his chest and stomach since returning from holiday in Tunisia. The next patient to be blue-lighted in is 71-year-old Christine, who's head is bleeding badly after a fall. Also, emergency nurse practitioner Tony sends a 12-year-old with a broken hand for an x-ray.
