As firefighters battle the Palisades Fire, hundreds of people are supporting them at a command center that was built in less than 24 hours. From lodging to laundry to logistics, this small city has turned into a massive firefighting machine. Rob Marciano has more. Authorities estimate that as of Thursday, more than 5,000 structures have been destroyed by the wildfires that have torched more than 30,000 acres across Los Angeles. Many questions remain about how local officials prepared for and responded to the disaster, and Mayor Karen Bass is facing questions over the timing of her trip to Africa. Actor Milo Ventimiglia has revealed his family's Malibu home burnt down in the Los Angeles fires -- an eerie reflection of the tragedy that befell his character on the NBC drama series "This Is Us." The wind-fueled Eaton Fire burning in northeast Los Angeles County has rained destruction on several neighborhoods in Pasadena and Altadena, damaging or destroying at least 1,000 structures and killing at least five people.
