After causing significant flooding in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, Hurricane Ernesto is churning north in the Atlantic, and is forecast to strengthen before it passes over or near Bermuda on Saturday. Dave Malkoff reports from Bermuda. Mediators were meeting in Qatar Thursday for a fresh round of cease-fire talks in an effort to bring an end to the Israel-Hamas war and curb rising tensions in the Middle East. Ramy Inocencio has the latest from Tel Aviv. President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris on Thursday appeared in Maryland for their first joint event since Mr. Biden ended his reelection bid last month. The event focused on promoting a Biden administration plan to lower prescription drug prices for Medicare recipients. Weijia Jiang reports.
