A day after an officer shot and killed a man in Madison, Wisconsin, police say the man had fled from officers, then pulled a fixed-blade knife, injuring one officer, who tried a taser before firing three shots. Protests developed almost immediately, and on Thursday, demonstrators took the microphone in a police press conference. Jonah Kaplan reports. Two men were stabbed on Thursday near Central Park in New York City, just blocks apart. The victims are Asian and Jewish, and the attacks are being investigated as a possible hate crime. Tom Hanson reports. U.S. health officials said they are investigating an additional outbreak of cyclospora, but do not know its source. Plus, Taylor Farms has reportedly shut down the plant where lettuce is suspected to have started the initial outbreak that has sickened thousands in at least 41 states. Carter Evans reports.
