Episode 66

The river in Nepal that surged like a tsunami from the high Himalayas surged again on Sunday, this time from torrential rains this wet season. Thousands of people are still missing after the devastating floods last week. Ramy Inocencio reports. Dozens of people have been evacuated after sudden flash flooding struck the Grand Canyon. Torrents of water raced through, washing out footbridges over a creek that leads to the Colorado River. The National Park Service said approximately 15 people are missing or unaccounted for. Andrew Kozak has more. President Trump said the U.S. will begin "topping out" its strategic petroleum reserve with Venezuelan oil under last week's agreement. But that's unlikely to provide much relief to Americans facing sustained high gas prices. Olivia Gazis has more details on the unprecedented agreement. An NBC News crew was in a Palestinian village in the West Bank when they were attacked by Israeli settlers over the weekend. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned the incident. Leigh Kiniry reports. White House border czar Tom Homan rejected claims that ICE officers arrest parents at bus stops in Connecticut. But there is no argument that arrests are up nationwide. Lana Zak reports from Stamford, Connecticut. NASA's next-generation telescope blasted off atop a SpaceX rocket at the Kennedy Space Center on Sunday. The $4.3 billion Roman Space Telescope is on a journey to peer at distant stars and galaxies. Mark Strassmann has more about what some call "the discovery machine."
