Undertow
A tow-truck driver robs a woman then causes an accident that leaves leaking nitrous-oxide canisters on the motorway.

Dog Gone
Jon takes care of a lost dog with an injured paw while contending with vindictive hippies, an erratic driver and a panicked biker.

Moving Violation
An angry motorist takes out his hostilities on his vehicle; a girl lands a small plane on the highway.

Career Day
Jon and Ponch arrest a group of college pranksters who have stolen a hearse. Ponch is upset when a man drives his car in wrong way but as he proceeds to cite him is shocked to meet his old alma mater principal. The educator congratulates him for what he's become and tells Ponch he will be honored on career day.

Baby Food
Ponch and Jon search for those who picked up cases of baby food contaminated with botulism.

Taking Its Toll
Thieves steal a small fortune in diamonds from a man going through a tollbooth. A limo driver causes an accident and tells Ponch and Jon that there is a bomb in the car.

Green Thumb Burglar
A thief strips the $60,000 worth of landscaping plants and shrubs from the freeways of Los Angeles.

Hustle
To prove bias, an irate driver photographs officers issuing tickets.

Highway Robbery
An elephant escapes and runs onto a freeway; Jon's old football teammate is a thief.

Name Your Price
Ponch and Jon investigate several thefts of Rolls-Royce cars, while Ponch gets a chance to compete on a game show.

Aweigh We Go
Jon and Ponch chase truck thieves and help a woman and child trapped in a car hanging over a cliff.

One Two Many
A fake CHP officer is masquerading as Ponch and Jon help to deliver a baby when the mother goes into labor. CHP officers usually ride in pairs, but this day Ponch leaves Jon to handle an emergency. While Jon is alone, an officer pulls up to a car and acts improperly, so frightening the female driver that she causes a traffic accident as she speeds away. As the Highway Patrol searches for for the unknown officer, Jon learns that the mystery man is apparently his double - and that his career is in jeopardy as long as the phony remains at large.

Rustling
The CHP sees a new angle on cattle rustling; Ponch tries to arrange a surprise party for Jon. Thinking that it is Jon's birthday soon, Ponch plans a surprise birthday party for him. A cattle owner is stealing his own cattle in order to rip off the assurance agency. A magician is showing some tricks when he and his daughter are pulled over for running through a red light. A young girl is trapped in her car when a drunk driver runs her off the road.

Surf's Up
Ponch and Jon accept a temporary transfer to Malibu Beach, hoping to enjoy a tranquil respite from their usual midtown traffic duties. A speeding 3 wheeler motorbike goes past Jon and Ponch, who give chase. Jon and Ponch get sent to Malibu when they ask for a change of scenery. 3 men are car stripping in Malibu. Ponch and Jon go to the beach while they take time off work.

Vintage '54
Jon and Ponch aid a sky diver caught on a freeway overpass, look for a vintage-car thief and help find a misplaced baby. A baby is left behind in a parking area. A female sky diver nearly lands on the highway when her parachute is stuck on the bridge above. Mrs. Downey's car has been stolen. A dumpster gets unhitched from its garbage van and runs freely down the freeway

Hitch-Hiking Hitch
A muscle-bound truck driver has his own method of obtaining parking spaces; two teenage girls insist on hitchhiking. Two girls are found by Jon and Ponch while hitch-hiking. One blames the other for being there and doing this, but Ponch and Jon learn that this is not true. Later they have to save them out of a dangerous situation.

Cry Wolf
A rash of false-alarm calls ties up CHP officers, ambulances and fire engines. A young man who is living by his sister does this.

Crash Diet
A solid trouncing by a girl's volleyball team caps a hectic week for the officers. Jon and Ponch gently try to coax a disturbed veteran out of throwing dirt at passing autos. Also, Getraer orders his officers to peel off excess pounds.

Rainy Day
A vindictive gambler, a gun-loving motorist and a kindergarten teacher with eyes for Ponch cause problems for the officers. Jon and Ponch are to patrol in a police cruiser as it's raining hard. A man gets thrown out of a gambling camper. Another man is driving down the highway, holding an umbrella out the window. A schoolteacher is allowed to take her little students to Central where they'll be given a tour by Ponch.

Crack-Up
A patient cheers hospitalized Jon; the drivers will not leave their armored car after an accident.

Flashback!
A rookie with political connections receives a mixed response from his co-workers.
