In the 1750s London's perilous streets were run by armed gangs, corrupt night watchmen and thief takers. Mixing fiction with real-life characters and informed by detailed historical research, this series follows the fortunes of the famous novelist Henry Fielding and his brother, John: the men who created the modern police force.

Searching for a way to smash the infamous Mooney gang, the Magistrates are drawn towards the Temples of Venus, notorious brothels owned by Jane Fawkland.
