Episode 1
It's the first day of term and the pupils of Blackrod Primary gather in the hall for assembly, led by head teacher Mr Dryburgh. He announces a new class is starting this term - their parents.

Episode 2
The class is now full swing into their term at Blackrod Primary School, but a few members of class 6M are beginning to test the boundaries. Jonny admits he likes trouble, disregarding the school uniform regulations and not doing his homework, resulting in him been sent to the head teacher's office. But is there more to Jonny than meets the eye? The oldest of the class, 70-year-old grandad Bill, has a special relationship with his two grandchildren, looking after them several days a week with his wife after their mother died of cancer. He struggles with some aspects of the academic work, but is determined to do well so he can help with his grandchildren's homework. He reveals at primary school he suffered from a bad stammer, and appreciates the supportive environment at Blackrod. At the school's summer fayre, every class competes in a sales competition, with class 6M setting up a milkshake and mocktail bar, which gives troublemaker Jonny an opportunity to shine.

Episode 3
It's week three, and the parents have settled in at Blackrod Primary School, although some still struggle with the rules. When 28-year-old Imogen arrives nearly an hour late, disrupting the whole class, Mrs Mead has no choice but to send her out. While 26-year-old Jenny is reluctant to take part in the dance performance, she accepts that primary school shouldn't just be about academic subjects. And what kind of reports can the new pupils expect at parents' evening?

It is the last week of term and some of the parents are starting to panic at the prospect of sitting their SAT exams, as the real Year 6 prepare to leave for secondary school.
