Con Man - Season 1

Season 1
As Wray Nerely navigates the world of fan conventions and all of the surreal experiences that go along with them, he tries to land a serious role that will win him the respect he so desperately craves.

Episodes

Stalled
Wray Nerely, co-star in the cult S.F. show Spectrum, tries to get to a s.f.convention. However, his booker downgrades his seat to coach, and he tries to convince an overeager fan to change seats with him.

Cash Poor
At the convention, Wray finds Bobbie in his hotel room along with his volunteer assistant Karen, who is "poopie sick". Together they will brave the autograph lines.

Behind the Lines
Wray meets an old friend, Jerry, who gives him a painkiller. So Wray is feeling no pain when he attends a VIP party and talks about the Eastwood film and his hate of s.f.

Retarding It All Up
A hungover Wray makes the mistake of trying to do an early-morning panel and takes Sean Astin's advice to use the word "retard". It doesn't go well and a mob of handicapped fans soon chase him through the con.

Baby Boom
Wray stumbles into the doll convention next door and meets a beautiful woman. He then judges a cosplay contest with Leslie Jordan and Sean Maher.

A Fluid Thing
Leslie and Sean both hit on Bobbie: she thinks Leslie is gay, and Sean thinks that Bobbie is transgender. Meanwhile, Wray sees his new action figure and begins to understand Louise's love of porcelain.

Doll Faced
Wray tries to have dinner with Louise, and Wray Wray, and Isabelle, but discovers Louise's dark secret. Louise points out that Wray Wray's action isn't child-suitable.

Voiced Over
When Wray's voice isn't considered manly enough for an action video game, he gets his walking papers. However, things look up when Milo Ventimiglia offers him a job at a comic book store and Jack offers to make a movie with him.

Sinking Feelings
Wray learns from Jack's new assistant Faith that Jack wants to make a Spectrum reunion movie, and is not amused.

Thank You for Your Service
Wray finds himself stuck on a comic book store opening panel about racism in voiceovers, with Michael Dorn and Kevin Gevioux. They're less than amused when they discover Wray did the voice of Rigamorale in What's Up Bitch.

Full Release
Spectrum creator PJ Haars releases the "lost episode" of the show, and Wray decides to get some closure by watching it with his old castmates.

Found and Lost
The Spectrum cast gathers to watch the missing episode--complete with Dutch actors and shadow puppets--and Jack is pulled over by the police en route.

Too Much Closure for Comfort
Stutter takes Wray prisoner and demands an apology... and a hairdresser. Meanwhile, Dawn wonders if one of her twins are hers, and Jack has good news about the Spectrum rights.
