She was a wonderful welfare recipient who volunteered to feed the less fortunate. After a tip by a building superintendent leads police to her killer. McGroarty was so loved that a scholarship was set up in her name by local MP Peggy Nash. Rose was fondly remembered by the current executive director of the community centre where she cooked for the homeless.
