This month help is needed to find those responsible for two armed robberies - in Kettering, where three robbers burst into a home, and at a jewellery shop in Brighton.

March 1998
This month help is needed to find the man who attacked an elderly woman after tricking his way into her East Sussex home. Plus an appeal for information about a string of armed robberies on garages in Haywards Heath, West Sussex.

April 1998
This month help is needed with the case of two women murdered within eight days of each other in Hastings. Plus an appeal for information about an armed robbery on a jewellery shop in Warwick.

May 1998
This month help is needed with the hunt for a con man who rents homes and then strips them of their valuables, plus an appeal for the street killing of Ricky Smith last October.

June 1998
This month help is needed to find the man responsible for the attempted murder of a Czech student on a train. Plus an appeal for information on the robbery of a Royal Mail van.

July 1998
This month help is needed to find a rapist who has struck twice in Scarborough, armed robbers who attacked the owner of a jewellery shop in Oxford, and the man who robbed a veterinary surgery in Woking.

August 1998
A special edition of the crime-solving programme, combining appeals for help on unsolved crime with updates on three cases solved by viewers' calls during the last year.

September 1998
This month help is needed to find the murderer of a 56-year-old man found near London's Vauxhall Bridge. Plus appeals for information on the case of a woman murdered near her home in Sandiway, Cheshire, and a rape at a south London railway station in March.

October 1998
This month help is needed to find the men responsible for two violent robberies. The first took place in Leeds and resulted in the death of an elderly man, while a Liverpool superstore was the scene for the second crime, in which a gunman held up a security guard.

November 1998
This month a search for the possible connection between the murder of Lynda Bryant in Cornwall last October, and that of teenager Kate Bushell, who was murdered in the same area a year before. Help is also needed to find the man who assaulted two children in Ilford, east London, and another man believed to be responsible for at least seven rapes in Northampton between 1984 and 1990.

December 1998
Among the featured cases are a brutal assault on two elderly sisters in their Newcastle upon Tyne home; and two building society armed robberies in Cheshire, which police think maybe linked. The programme also seeks the identity of a sex attacker who has claimed at least three women victims in the south east of England, and a man whose body was found just north of Peterborough.
